Who We Are?
At Essex Care Home Ltd, we are committed to empowering individuals as they transition from family homes to their own Supported Living Accommodation. Our mission is to provide tailored support that promotes independence, choice, and control, ensuring each person lives a fulfilling life in a safe and nurturing environment.
What is Supported Living?
Supported living at Essex Care Home Ltd involves individuals residing in their own homes, either owned or rented, with customised support for their daily needs. This support can vary from a few hours daily to round-the-clock assistance, depending on individual requirements. Residents have the flexibility to live alone or share their home with others, maintaining control over their living arrangements.
Key Features of Our Supported
Living Service:
Tenancy and Financial Independence: Each individual has their own tenancy and is responsible for paying their bills, fostering a sense of independence. The benefits they claim, such as Housing Benefit and any disability-related benefits, are tailored to their unique circumstances.
Home Setup and Furnishings: While landlords may provide white goods and some furniture, individuals are encouraged to bring or purchase personal items, especially bedroom furniture and smaller essentials, to create a homely environment.
Privacy and Staff Access: In community settings, there is typically no staff office within the building, and staff do not hold keys without the resident’s consent, ensuring privacy and security. In supported living accommodation, we assist individuals in managing their keys safely.
Support and Safety Checks: Our managers conducts regular visits to ensure high-quality support and safety provided by support staff and maintaining essential records and carrying out risk assessments to keep residents safe.
Community Engagement: We support individuals in becoming active members of their local communities, helping them build social connections and engage in local activities.
Decision Making and Capacity: For individuals who may lack the capacity to make certain decisions, such as managing finances or signing a tenancy, decisions are made in their best interests. We consider relatives’ views and, when necessary, a deputy may be appointed by the Court of Protection to manage finances and legal matters.
Our Commitment to Quality Support: We understand that moving to supported living can be challenging for individuals and their families. Our commitment is to provide consistent, high-quality care, regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our offices and records undergo regular inspections, and we actively seek feedback from residents and their families to continually improve our services.
Empowering Lives: At Essex Care Home Ltd, we strive to provide the people we support with the maximum choice and control over their lives, ensuring they enjoy the best possible experiences and opportunities to live life fully. Supported living is our preferred approach, offering independence, financial
stability, and community integration. For more information about our supported living services and how they can benefit your loved one, please contact our office. We are here to assist and support you every step of the way.
